The most important question in life is "Are you sure you will go to heaven when you die?" Are you saved? No one can go to heaven without being saved. Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, 'Except a man be born again (saved), he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3).
The way of salvation is simple and offered to all.
First, you must acknowledge that you are a sinner. "There is none righteous, no, not one. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"(Rom. 3:10,23). There is no hope of being saved until you first come to realize that YOU are a sinner and in need of salvation.
Second, you must understand that as a sinner, you are under condemnation. "For the wages of sin is death" (Rom. 6:23). We are all sinners and under condemnation, but the good news is that God loves us so much that He has provided a way of salvation. God is "not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).
Third, you must accept that Christ Jesus has already paid your sin debt for you. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly" (Rom. 5:6). Hebrews 2:9 says "that He (Jesus), by the grace of God should taste death for every man." He paid the sin debt we owe God.
Last, you must accept by faith what Jesus did for you. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). You must repent of your sins and forsake them in your heart. The word "believe" means to trust in, to depend on, and to rely upon. Completely trust in Christ Jesus to forgive your sins and secure you a place in heaven. You exercise faith by praying and asking God to save you through the Lord Jesus Christ. "For whosoever shall call upon the Lord (Jesus) shall be saved" (Rom. 10:13).
After you are saved, you need to get baptized and become a member of a scriptural New Testament church. Find a Bible-teaching church (like FSBC) where you can worship with fellow believers, serve Christ and grow as a Christian.
There are three things to practice daily for spiritual growth; pray (talk to God); read the Bible (God talks to you); and witness (tell others about Christ).
